FAQ's

Q: What products/services does Coastal Cabinets offer that are not typical of factory cabinet resellers?

A: Coastal Cabinets is much more involved throughout the entire process. From the beginning stages of design and layout to the installation of the final piece of decorative hardware we offer unmatched design, project management and quality control.

Q: Are custom cabinets beyond my price range?

A: Compared to medium and upper end factory cabinet resellers, you will find our cabinets similarly priced.

Q: Are factory, baked-on finishes better than Coastal Cabinets' custom finishes?

A: No. Baked-on finishes are a high volume product. Factory cabinets are mass produced and the finishing process has a limited drying time. Consequently, heat must be applied to maximize production, not quality. Our custom lacquer and conversion varnish finishes allow for an infinite choice of colors, glazes and finish effects. They are as good, if not superior, to any finish on the market.

Q: Why is your cabinet construction superior to others?

A: All of our cabinet boxes are built using 3/4" thick hard maple plywood, machined to exacting specifications, using computer numerical controlled (CNC) equipment. These components are assembled using blind dado construction and are fastened with glue and screws. NONE of our cabinets are constructed using particle board, melamine or any other composite materials.

Q: Does Coastal Cabinets use sub-contractors for the installation of their cabinetry?

A: No. All of our cabinetry is delivered and installed by our employees. This ensures the utmost care is taken by our experienced craftsman, to complete even the smallest detail of your project to our exacting standards.

Q: Do custom cabinets require a longer lead time than cabinets purchased from a factory cabinet reseller?

A: No. Our typical lead time is 4-6 weeks. This can be significantly less then box resellers, sometimes up to 16 weeks.
